Not long ago, I had the opportunity to travel to the Kyushu region of Japan, where my partner tasked me with finding unique teas from various cities. That journey quickly turned into a tea-hunting adventure, opening my eyes to the depth of green tea, which offers so much more than the matcha we drink every day.
This discovery inspired me to create a perfume that celebrates the green tea note. I drew from the diverse experiences of that trip, building on an existing perfume formula I'd put aside for some time. The formula had been missing just one piece: the elusive "green astringency" that rises subtly when brewing or sipping green tea. I had tried to capture it countless times but never succeeded, so I put that project on hold for over a year.
Recently, I sought the expertise of international perfumers to help source an ingredient that embodies this green, slightly bitter essence. Finally, I found it. This fragrance now represents green tea in the truest way, reflecting the vivid memories of my journey with the spirit of green tea captured perfectly.
