Description
Dunhuang (敦煌) is an ancient city located in the Gansu Province of northwestern China. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Gobi Desert, along the historic Silk Road route. Dunhuang (敦煌) holds great historical and cultural significance due to its strategic location as a trading hub and its proximity to important Buddhist sites.
Dunhuang (敦煌) is an olfactory experience that captures the essence of the ancient Silk Road caravan and the meeting of Eastern and Western cultures. The aromas and scents associated with the Silk Road would indeed have been a diverse and captivating blend. As the main character, Osmanthus blossom, a peachy honey-like fragrance, Osmanthus absolute would have been a prominent scent along the Silk Road, particularly in Buddhist incense. Top with Mandarin, Tangerine, and Kumquat would have added a vibrant and refreshing citrus aroma to the air. Jasmin tea and Lapsang souchong or smoked black tea, would have contributed their distinctive fragrance to the mix. The Spices such as Cinnamon, Clove bud, Ginger, Black pepper, Caraway, Cumin seed, and Anise would have provided a rich and aromatic spice component, representing the spices traded along the Silk Road. Jasmine Absolute, Magnolia and Rose added floral dimension enhancing the olfactory experience. Precious Woods and Resins provide warmth, depth, and a sense of grounding to the fragrance palette. Finally, The Earthy and Natural Elements: Moss added an earthy and fresh aroma, evoking the natural surroundings of the desert oasis.
