Antoine Soradora was born on a Wednesday, July 16, 1902, in Loulé, under the overwhelming heat of the little city in the south of Portugal. On this tongue of land where the cliffs pretend to break under the crashing of the waves, the freshly raised sea foam swirls with the wind and reminds us of how light life is.

Antoine Soradora’s parents lived their whole life thanks to the exploitation of the land. Very believers, the young man accompanied them every Sunday to the church of Saint-Clement.

Antoine Soradora was solitary. His elders perceived in him the material of a future priest so wise and wise the child was.

Without looking back Antoine Soradora takes the decision to leave his native land.

The journey was tough but he finally managed to reach the Bouches-du-Rhône and more precisely a small village named Gréasque.

On site, he was welcomed by a French family who given him, as a housing, a modest shed at the bottom of their garden.

The young man was very happy. The first sign of recognition he was to this family was to transform this virgin land into a little paradise. A garden of Eden in Provence, filled with flowers, fruit trees and hundreds of varieties of aromatic plants.

During this period, his days were spent between working in the mine and maintaining his garden. When he had free time, Antoine Soradora was going to discover the region. Throughout the visits, it fell under the charm of the city of Grasse.

On the heights of the little city, the young man had the happy meeting of Étienne, a jasmine grower who came to admire the view. The man, tall and slim and 20 years her elder had keep this child soul which made him sensitive and comfortable.

The two men bound quickly and a natural complicity brought from their shared passion for plants.

Antoine Soradora showed him his garden and provided the wonder of the cultivator. The boy from Loulé has now become head gardener of the Jasmin Estate. In secret, he started in parallel to work on a new project with his friend.

Antoine Soradora and Étienne take advantage of their knowledge and sensitivity and experiment with perfumes.

Thanks to the capital gathered by the jasmine cultivation, the two men had the freedom to order all the raw materials they needed for their work.

On the death of his friend, Antoine Soradora was entrusted with the keys to this project.

He put his creativity in the service of scents and produced his first perfume, just one year after taking the reins of the workshop.

The young man then discovers the small bars of the city of Aix-en-Provence. There he meet Rose a Gréasquien, the one who will become his wife.

With her, he had three daughters to whom he transmitted all his know-how with gentleness and exigence.

Today, SORA DORA, named by this Portuguese immigrant, has become a prestigious perfume brand for four generations. In the seven versions offered by the 2021 collection, you will find all the power and emotion of the journey of this man who left his country and his family to realize his dream.
